HEADING NORTH FOR THE WINTER
Gday Everyone, I hope you are keeping warm in this winter, wherever you maybe. I’m heading North for most the winter, but more on that later. Firstly my band and I have been doing some fun gigs over the past few months.
One special gig was the wedding of Rhiannon and Mark. They found my music through checking out my website. They like myself, enjoy Brad Paisley so I was hired. It was an honour to play for a such a lovely couple. The wedding was special as it was Rhiannons dream to walk down the aisle. Unfortunately Rhiannon had a tough accident a few years back and was told she may never walk again and be wheel chair bound. Her determination and great support around her proved people wrong. It was a touching moment as Rhiannon walked down the aisle. It was a pleasure to sing for her as she took those wonderful steps. It was a fun night for all. I guarantee you will be inspired.
Most recently my band and family all went out to the Music in the Mulga festival which is held on Wandilla Station west of Eulo, in Western Queensland. Close to 900 people and over 300 caravans enjoyed a great fun filled country atmosphere weekend. We did start playing on the Wednesday night, but the action started on the Thursday. It was fun to play alongside Libby O’Dononvan. Libby is such a versatile singer and piano player. She will be s a superstar.
Friday night saw the first Mulga Bush Dance. It was a hoot. Simply Bushed done an awesome job keepin everyone inline and teaching us how to dance. It was the best fun I've had in a long time. Saturday saw the Main stage swing into action. Sara Storer and Pete Denehy were wonderful entertainment as well the Graham Rodger who is one of Australia's leading bush balladeers. I had a lot of fun playing with Keith Dunn, Bec Hance and Andy Abra. I also got to play for Roo Arcus who came out for the second time. It was also a lot of fun Rockin out with Jonny Taylor who drove across the Nullarbor for the event. I cant thank Carmel and Dave the station owners enough for their awesome hospitality. They also have a wonderful mob of helpers who kept the festival ticking. Check out http://musicinthemulga.com.au/mulga/
As mentioned last month I’m very excited to say that I’m working on a brand NEW Album. I have 12 new self penned songs which I’m very excited about. I will say this album will be very traditional country, as that is my favourite style of country. I will also throw a couple of covers on there. SO WATCH THIS SPACE!
The next few months, I’m taking my family on the road as we head north to the Darwin Rodeo at the Noonamah Tavern in Darwin. We will be stopping at a lot of places on our journey. So please come say Gday.
Until next time
Keep safe on the trrack
